A Little History:
The Pine Creek RR was founded in 1952 in Marlboro NJ, one of the first operating steam preservation railroads in the US.

After outgrowing the original 2.5 acre site the railroad was reorganized as the New Jersey Museum of Transportation Inc. with the Pine Creek RR becoming the operating division and main exhibit of the museum. Over 1963 and 1964 the railroad was moved, one piece at a time, to new quarters in Allaire State Park in Wall NJ.

Today the Pine Creek RR is the oldest continuously-operated steam preservation railroad in the US and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2002.

About NJMT:
Congratulations to our dedicated volunteer Members! We logged in 16,379 hours in 2001, beating 2000's previous all time record of 12,500! Members will see the breakdown in the next ORDER BOARD newsletter. Many thanks to the crew! Talk about breaking a record!!!

The operation of NJMT and the Pine Creek RR is carried out by a dedicated staff of volunteers, dedicated enough to log in over 16,000 hours annually! These talented individuals operate the train and sell tickets, maintain and restore our historic railroad equipment, and even carry out the administration and business end of the museum and railroad.

NJMT is a 501c3 tax-exempt not-for-profit educational organization. Although located in Allaire State Park the NJMT is independent and receives no state funds nor tax dollars. All income is realized from train fares, gift shop sales, membership dues, and donations.

Various classes of memberships are open, from Working to Associate. Email us at the link at the bottom of the page for more information.
